Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 21, 2026

MicroplastX ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit www.microplastx.com (the "Site"), purchase a test kit, or submit a sample for laboratory analysis. By using the Site or our services, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

  • Account and order information: name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and payment information.
  • Health and demographic information: date of birth, sex, and any other information you voluntarily provide when registering your kit or completing optional questionnaires.
  • Sample information: the blood sample you collect and ship to our laboratory partner, and the test results derived from it.
  • Communications: messages you send us through email, support requests, or community forums.

Information Collected Automatically

  • IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, and referring URLs;
  • Pages viewed, time spent, and other usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Process your order and ship your test kit;
  • Coordinate laboratory analysis and deliver your results;
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries;
  • Send order confirmations, shipping notices, and result notifications;
  • Improve our products, services, and the Site;
  • Send marketing communications (only if you have opted in — you may unsubscribe at any time);
  • Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud.

3. Biological Samples and Test Results

Your blood sample is processed by a CLIA/COLA-accredited laboratory partner under strict chain-of-custody and confidentiality protocols. We treat your sample and individual results as sensitive personal information and apply heightened protections.

  • We do not sell your identifiable health data to third parties.
  • Samples may be stored by the laboratory for the period required by applicable regulations and for quality-control purposes, then destroyed.
  • We may use de-identified, aggregated data (data that cannot reasonably be linked back to you) for research, product development, and to publish benchmarks. Aggregated data does not identify any individual.
  • You may request deletion of your individual results at any time (see Section 8).

4. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to provide our services and as described below. We do not sell your personal information.

  • Laboratory partners: to process your sample and generate results.
  • Service providers: payment processors, shipping carriers, email and analytics platforms, IT and hosting providers — each bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MicroplastX, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will provide notice and choices where required by law.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and (with consent where required) deliver relevant marketing. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect Site functionality.

We may use third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics. These tools collect information about your use of the Site and report it to us in aggregate form.

6. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and secure payment processing through PCI-DSS-compliant providers. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the services, comply with legal obligations (including tax, accounting, and laboratory record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of your personal information and results;
  • Opt out of marketing communications by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing;
